Does Shockwave Therapy really work?

Shockwave Therapy is very successful with certain chronic musculoskeletal problems, especially when other treatments haven’t worked.

How much does Shockwave Therapy cost per session?  I've heard it can be very expensive.

At ShockwaveRx, our goal is to help each patient with their pain and to make it very affordable.  Our fees start at $50 per session and we offer discounted rates for multiple pre-paid sessions. 

What can Shockwave Therapy treat?  

Some of the common conditions treated by Shockwave Therapy include:

Is Shockwave Therapy covered by insurance?

Unfortunately, Shockwave Therapy is not yet covered by insurance.  At ShockwaveRx, we make each session very affordable to ensure you do not leave with wallet pain.

Do I need a physician referral for Shockwave Therapy?

No.  A physician referral is not required to begin Shockwave Therapy. 

How long will it take to see results from Shockwave Therapy?

Many patients have positive results after only 1 session.  Others claim to have much success within 3 to 5 sessions. 

Is Shockwave Therapy painful?

Shockwave Therapy is not painful, however, treatment on some areas with less muscle mass may present some minimal discomfort. 

Is Shockwave Therapy FDA approved?

Yes.  Shockwave Therapy is FDA approved.

If I am taking blood thinners, can I have Shockwave Therapy?

If you are on blood thinners, we will not provide Shockwave Therapy services.  The treatment works by creating tiny mechanical stresses, which can cause significant bleeding, hematomas, or severe bruising in patients with altered clotting capabilities.
